Yes Sir,
Is the accent on the wa or the hoo?
and...please
What 3d program are you using to edit -not open to view - terrains, objects and skins ? Everything I have makes the objects the wrong color when opened... and the best terrain pic I have is 2d..

please, start here..
goto Terrains/Mods, Terrains, Tutorials... i recommend "Uncle Ahl's Terrain Tutorial For DF2" this will give you a basic idea of the files that make up the terrains, & how to easily edit them.
then come back to this thread. Wildman & Rot are the dudes you want to talk to, & both a very helpful ;)

Thanks...took me a while before figuring out you meant the downloads section...
And I should have specified that I'm looking at specifically at TFD and C4. All I need is to find find a format that I can link commonly among my 3d programs to them.
Thanks again.
Edited to Include: I think this topic may be heading into a graphics discussion. After downloading the tutorial and the other programs recommended, I glanced at them in hex mode and I think I've discovered the 3DI file purpose - (perhaps they 'place' the pcx and tga files for 3d rendering ?) Hmm...
Hit the Big 40 today.. and still dumb as ever ! Hey, but I try to improve..
