For you X45 users, Saitek recently released a new joystick driver. It’s reported to have fixed a few crash-related defects—did not have any of these myself—but it seems just as stable, and is necessary to use the new Deadband utility (see below). The new Deadband utility alleviates drift caused by a loose centering string. It really smoothes out my joystick and the rudder lever; my heli no longer drifts around while hands off hovering or hunts for direction during forward flight. Works great.
