View Full Version : BHD: NET Play, How many people?

When editing a COOP map, I exported it and got an "error" message that says "the total number of vehicles and people exceeds the number allowed for network play (64)". What are the limits for network play? The MED manual says 768 people might generate an error message on export. Quite a difference in the numbers....

Such as the same with C4 and since C4 and BHD are the same engine, we get the "exceeds 64" limit error for network play but the truth is many mappers have exceeded that limit and beyond and have experienced little or no effect on the actual play of the map.

Charger, thanks for your quick reply.
Interesting.. I have noticed that it doesn't seem to make any difference in game play in SP, but I wonder if that's part of the punting problem in BHD? I read where some say keep joining and finally it will work, but so far it hasn't for me. I have to restart the map on the server to make it let everyone in. Funny thing is, we can play a map, leave it unfinished, then go back, and it won't let anyone in. Very odd.. ..We're matched on game version, etc.

Since I can't use NILE on my windows ME, I can only ask a question in a response to a question. Does enemy respawn work in JO NILE? If it does then wouldn't it be possible to place maybe 50 enemy AI and respawn say 10 times each. Do the math on that one, alot of bad guys! And by doing that maybe it will not bring up an error of too many. Same could work for vehichles. Maybe?

Sorry I didn't see this post of I would have replied sooner. You can respawn AI in Nile and if you place 50 AI and have them spawn 10 times they will spawn 10 times. I know someone who’s placed 150 none-spawning AI in his map, it runs pretty smooth and doesn't seem to have any problems. The only real problem for now is that in NILE there is no control over spawn counts, until they fix it, it just sits as 0=no spawn and 1 or more=infinite spawn. The vehicles on the other hand seem to have an automatic respawn so they just continually respawn no matter what. There is a way to get them to not respawn by entering an event and set their spawn count to 0.
