Times Roman Red large :D

Hi all, I have had the Game now for about 18 months. The best damm Helo game since Longbow Apache by Janes {I still have that one}
I usually do not spend much time in front of a screen , but if I play Commanche, and stuff up a game, I will be there all night getting it perfect.
I play solo, not having experience inthe Multi-Player arena
So I look for advice, any ideas, Patches, and Updates. The only new Helo Game around now I have seen is BUKA's First Strike.
Of course I use a very "touchy , and delicate digital Joystick, and this makes for any error of flying a hazard.
I hope to learn more, and get to know other users, and what others used before this Game came out
saty safe

The best way to learn is go to multi-player, there you will find some of the best pilots to help you out. I still play every now and again so you might or might not catch me in a server.......but ask around and see if they will help you out.
Good Luck to ya,

parallex,
Welcome to the Comanche 4 community! Once you decide to go multiplayer, theres no turning back, lol. It can be very addictive, ask anyone in the servers. To play online you must make sure your game is updated to version 1.5, which is available here on CPD for download. Version 2 is only necc if you wish to host a game with certain features/options that v1.5 either lacks/or has the advantage(not going to go there LOL this horse has been beat to death):) .
Flying multiplayer is completely different from single player, and a good place to start is Reapers page here is the link: C4 Info (http://members.tripod.com/~ncscrew0/c4/comache4information.htm) . read the tips and flying info, if you have any questions feel free to contact me via email or personal message. Drop into our CFS server when you get on line, we practice Tues and Thurs 7:00pm Central US time.
Visit our new website at www.c4cfs.com (http://www.c4cfs.com)
p.s. the prefered joystick of CFS is the logitech 2.4 wireless or Extreme 3dPro FYI

Or you can email me when you are ready at animal_1426@yahoo.com and I will help you get started. What kind of joystick are you using and maybe I can help you setup a profile for it which will help you out alot. The best kind of joysticks to get are a saitek's, wingman's or a microsoft.
There are many of good squads out there that are willing to teach you everything you need to know about the game. But you want to get your settings right before you visit multi-player http://airprowlers.com/c4-settings.php these are the setting you should have, and for the name editor you will want to download from here http://www.checkpointdelta.net/cgi-bin/db.cgi?db=file&uid=default&Game=C4&view_records=1&sb=1&so=ascend&ID=*&mh=100 and you will look for C4 pilot editor and if you will like to server you will want to get the update for Comanche 4 so you will be running V.2 (wont say anything about V.1) but you will go to the same page and download the Auto Explode AE Beta V.7.1.8 . This is what you will need if you get on multi-player.
Here's some commands that you will need to know if you do happen to open a server:
Netdelay om's (only enter once because if you keep doing this it will turn on and off)
and
Punt and the number of the player (hit K to find the number of the player).
Every time you enter a new map you have to hit the minus key by your backspace bar to zoom your radar in.
If you ever happen to get stuck in a map you have to hit ~ and then type resetgames............if you are serving and playing this will reset the whole game.(You will become invisible in another sever fly around if nobody sees you then you should crash but if a new player enters the game you will be visible to them), but if you do resetgames you will not always come out invisible, so it is better to check...........if you are invis you should crash so that you will become visible again.
That is all you need to know for now unless you need more information come back and ask and I'm sure that someone will answer your questions.

Comanche 4 is the only game that gets my heart pumping, the game is full of excitement and never ending action. You will need to find someone to help you with sound because it is the biggest part of the game so you should go get you some headsets: Best kind of headsets I think to get is Plantronics.

Well my X45 does pack a punch but not as near as fast as the Wingman Pro.........Some times I use the Saitek Evo and it is a little faster than the X45, but I will stay with the X45.

Well I have had my Dig Log Freedom 2-4 now for well over a year and it is copping a hammering {as I play F-22 Lightning 111 too}, no drama so far,
but looking in that latest catalouges, some are now so low in price {digital , etc the type we wont} I may put a secong away for a rainy day.

The good thing about the game I found as a novice was when you go advanced, you can stop full rotor tilt.
This is a big one in wrecking your joystick.
Anyone agree?
Ahh, I have a arm on desk setup like F-16, where I rest my whole arm on a gel pad , and gently let the stick and finger preasure do the work, not slamming the stick about.
Do I make sense, JJG, Animal and Watchtower
cheers guys

my first stick since playing C4 was the old ms precision pro, but it had no profiler for either win2k or winXP and some probs with selfcentering.
my second was the logi cordless freedom2.4, well it checked out after four months.
my third til sixth was and is the logi extreme 3d pro, each one checked out after 4 months. LOL
if i could i would buy the newest ms precision, but ms decided to stop all stick productions.

i recommend if you are unhappy with your stick go to a shop and have a look on the sticks from logi, saitek or thrustmaster and make your decision or buy an old ms on ebay.

would be a good idea to jump into open practice servers and to ask the guys and gals there to give ya some hints to improve your online flying skills. as far as i know all major squads dont mind if they have visitiors in open practices who are asking them for hints.
a good chance to find the right squad that fits to you.
when they stop giving ya hints without being asked for, then you know you have noticeable improved :D

many veterans out there more than willing to give you hints and to train you on open servers.

we are all waiting for ya.

Would actual game itself cause a problem with the hardware:stupid2: ????????/
In other words the software wrecking the hardware???/
I can tell ya this tho, I wasn't the only person in my sqad having
problems with the LOG 2.4 freedom wireless stick, off hand 4
other people experinced the same problem i had with that stick.

That's a good question there parallex ,hhhhhuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm

A year A WHOLE YEAR and your LOG 2.4 is still going strong:bouncing:

Well someone recently told me that , software problems stemming from XP Pro Service Pack 2 is a WALL we face.

, And it may mean going up in the world to a newer Navidia, or R/thon which may fix it, but yes , the software may be the cause. Never a prob with the Log freedom 2-4.
My system is handmade, I update drives, Vid cards, and so on when time comes {a more sophisticated game, needing more memory and power}
I do not think it is the game, hell I have still sitting on the shelf, Tornado, F-18 Hornet {Janes}, and so on, they glitch, Commanche does not.
So I wonder
The other thing is how you treat your stick, truly, I fly it as it were a real digital stick, barley a movement , no forced push forward for speed etc, so it could be the way we treat our Joysticks. What do you think guys

The Logi's are our prefered stick, as I stated, most have switched from the Extreme 3D pro to the cordless, Im still using the Extreme corded. Unfortunatly, because of the many hours our squad members put in, we are going to have some failures, and replacing a joystick after 4-6 months is the price you pay for continued, hard play. Sure, I wish they made it tougher, but the price is not bad, the stick feels the most comfortable to me, and I love all those **** buttons!:) When this one craps out(Ive had it 4 months, still works) Im goining with the 2.4.
