View Full Version : JO unofficial MED problem
well i got a little inpatient waiting for the official JO editor to come out so i downloaded the unofficial editor to create some COOP maps...well i ran into some probs and asking for some help if anyone knows how to fix them here is the problem....there is no group/all destroyed event and the events..so if you destroy all the weapon crates or tangos there is no way of wining the obj:barfy: and when i try to attach a AI to a emplaced weapon i get a SYS.dump when i run the game...and last of all if you try to change group AI the editor crashes..:stupid2: but umm my main concern is getting the group all destroyed event to wrok so i can get a coop map up and playable any feedback would be nice ...maybe a wac file??

You might try throwing one of the other unlocked editors in that directory - maybe the MED_H or MED_D. Name it JOMED2.exe. Keep it simple - it may not work.
After you set up your win/lose conditions in that MED you just put in there, save and export the map. Now open it in the 'Unofficial MED'. Make no changes. Save and Export and use the BHD2JO tool. Try it out.
I tried this... but not with people, only objects and it didn't work. It may work with people. For objects - I used the SSN destroyed in the MED_H and did all those things listed above and it worked.
BTW- You can use the 'attach and use' in the other unlocked editors too. ;) :cool:

Not to condem this editor but at this point I'm finding it very hard to make anything happen with it. I've tryed to use the win/lose condision on an AI, I might add that I tryed it with the WAC and then the events formula's and still doesn't seem to end game when all enenmy AI are dead. Haveing to convert the map each time you make a change is a nightmare. My appoligies to the people who put their hard work into bring us this editor but it lacks the events settings to complete a workable coop map. I plan to mess with it more but truthfully I'm praying that NL does us a real favor and releases the Official Editor soon, like now!:cool:

Been useing the editor with some success but there still are issues concerning events, in editor events and WAC file events. Trigger condisions for "alldead" have been excluded and makes difficult to set goals in the event of all tango's being killed. A friend of mine who made a map has to resort to useing an area trigger to end game. I managed to set GaveOver by useing "ALL Intact" to false but it only works with one tango, but if you shot him first the game ends before you play it. If anyone else has managed to decipher the WAC code and get some of these events to work properly I would like to get some information peratining to it. I am impatient to work with the official Editor but at this point it looks like any mention of it's release has become taboo with NovaLogic, when they say it's going to be next week, bet on it not being three weeks from now. :cool:

The only success I've had with 'destroyed' is using an SSN destroyed. You might try a teleport of a player (SSN) near the end of a map. Once you kill him - its over. (Or better yet... use this and teleport several players while using 'and' instead of 'or'. )

Have you had any success in useing the WAC formula's to get anything to work in the game. The Time Of Day (TOD) and getting the Tango's to not spawn for infinity seems to work properly. As well as I was able to use the WAC file in BHD to make things work I'm finding JO to be set up slightly different.

You can get AI to attach to vehicles - but that is all I've tried Charger.

I managed to attach tango's to BTR with the events. This editor is tricky but once you get the hang of it can be fun to mess with till the official comes out...
