Introduction:

I must admit, Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is one game which flew under the proverbial radar for me. I didn't really become aware of what it was, or that it was even out until I started getting emails from TweakGuides.com readers asking me to do a guide for it. One lunchtime at work last week I ducked out and bought the game, not expecting much, hoping only to selflessly serve my faithful readers by writing a guide for it like the saint that I am. Later that night I installed the game, thinking I was going to play a B-Grade first person shooter. Loading it up I got a very pleasant surprise. My first thought was "This game should be called 'Battlefield 2004'!"

Seems to me your game should work with pro...try changing your driver version, either update or drop back one or two.

When you say you can't run the game, do you mean it literally won't install or start - or that the game looks like its running in 16 colors ?

The reason I ask Hutch - I have to run below the recommended settings to keep my framerate above 30/40. If you can start it, try turning everything to low and bumping everything but water and shadows ( especially shadows ) up one level at a time.

Hutch, I've heard of some getting to play with the G4 ti4200. Not sure if it fully supports dx9 though. I personally have a 5900xt - but started with the 256/5200fx and as I stated before, struggled for decent framerates with any settings above normal. The 5950 class seemed to play well - and the 6800's are still in the first generation and very expensive.

Not qualified to speak on ATI's behalf.

Started with an 2400+ (oc'd to 2.17ghz) / 512 2100ddr / 512 creative sound card. This was more than adequate to play the game.
