View Full Version : How to make my SAR aircraft take-off?

Hi,

I set my SAR aircraft to land, but when it's about to RTB, it doesn't.

I tried changing its AI state to "return to base" in the event, but it didn't seem to work. I have also insert a "waypoint, mp, blue base" but it's not helping too. Please help. Thank you.

Have you set a trigger for the event. Such as player reaches wpt, and used a way point as home base to send him back to?.

My Event 5 Trigger

IF:

Event 4 has been triggered (event 4 is the downed pilot is teleported away, ie pretending to be loaded up into the SAR chopper)

Then:

Redirect SSN x to Waypoint List y (doesn't work)
Change SSN AI AI state to Return to Basse (doesn't work)

Please help, thank you.

I ran in to a similar prob at 1 point. What I did was set the ss to it's own group instead. After the event I set its attbribute to take off then go to the wpt # then land instead of return to base.

Haven't used editior for a bit but I think you have to have

Change SSN AI state

then

Redirect SSN to X

I will try to find the right formula but in the mean time change it around and see if this helps.

Also did you mention which game this was? C4, BHD?

Sorry I didn't mention, it's a C4 game. Can't seem to work with anything.

Are you using the med from here or the one the game has?. The events and triggers should work if set up right.

Hi reaper,

I am using the C4med here, and the RTB attribute doesn't seem to work despite many changes. I tried setting firstly AI state to RTB (doesn't work), then I put AI state RTB and direct SSN to waypt (doesn't work) and I also tried direct SSN to waypt and AI state RTB (doesn't work)... it seems like after an aircraft has landed, it cannot work anymore...(how I know, cause I tried firing missiles on it and it doesn't explod) You also mention about setting attribute to take-off, but I didn't see such an attribute in the med.

Finally... can someone check my "story-line" while I continue to brain-storm the details, thanks.

Phase 1: Start-up, taxy, Take-off (designing of the base)
Phase 2: RV with Rescue Chopper (carrying bravo team)
Phase 3: Establish postion (@ downed helicopter site)
Rescue Chopper land (release bravo team, search for down pilots and return with them)
Phase 4:RTB

To get the helo back in the air did you set it to formation before you sent it back to base?. I opend my med and I need to do a reinstalle of the pff files I have bad text strings. After I do that I'll throw a map together to see exactly what you need to do. If you want to send me the mis file I'll mess with it and see what I can do.

Heres the fixed mis file back. I set a new marker for the trip home. The helo was doing what it was told going to the nearest marker, That was the pick up area. To get the helo up again you need to change ai to formation so it will fly again. Timing is important here to give the imprestion of a pick up. And map makers will fine tune the timing and placement of the markers untill it looks just right to them. There are diff ways to do what you wanted to. I just picked the one I would use. Any way hang in there if you need some more help just holler. Good luck

I'll try out the fixed and continue with my work, hopefully soon I am finish the whole scenario and let you guys have a go and comment on it.

I didn't read all the replys, so this may have already been said. If the 'Return To Base' option is not working, just set up some waypoints for him to follow? I have never used the 'Return To Base' action, so I don't know exactly what it would involve.
