V.20 Download

About 2 months ago I downloaded V 20 of C4 & had lots of problems with <SYSTDUMP.TXT> & <EARLYERR.TXT> not loading properly. I had to, eventualy, reformat my hard drive. I decided to stick with V 15 until now, when I tried again, but find that the same problems exsist. Does anyone else get this problem & if so how is it resolved?

your not useing the no c/d patch for C4 are you i cought wind that the newest up date adress a few issue's but most important is it also included a sniffer . this sniffer look's at your .EXE file to make sure it wasnt altered in any way , the no c/d patch alters the .EXE file . hence if you have the no c/d patch installed it will snif it out and make you C4 gm nul and void srry . they done this to dflw tfd bhd ts and C4 :mad:

Did you say the latest NOCD EXE contains a Sniffer?

That makes no sense?

I've been using the "latest version" of the NoCD EXE and it works fine ON-LINE or off.
BHD on the other hand, will ban one of your 4 player accounts if you "login" and play a game using the NOCD exe.
But they wont make you SYSDUMP.

You dont have to login to play C4 on line.
Use the attached startup.htm to bypass the login.


To the orginal thread starter:

Try running c4.exe using /L in the command line.
That will generate an errorlog.txt if the program crashes.

That might give you a clue as to what is causing the problem.

Also make sure you have the latest versions of video, sound, and IO device drivers as well as the latest version of Direct X.

run dxdiag to see what version you have and to diagnose any possible driver issues.

Thanx for your info, although I still dont know where I find the c4.exe file or the command prompt or how to put the .zip folder into it...srry like i said i'm dumb! especially with computers.
Gimme an aeroplane & I can do things with it. Anyway if you could let me know how to do all this I'll send you a coconut at christmas. lol

most of the programs in your computer with a default windows installation are in the c:\program files folder, which you can get to by double-clicking on the "my computer" icon which you can hopefully find. If you scroll down to "Novalogic" and double click it you will see the comanche 4 folder, where all your comanche 4 files are at (c:\program files\novalogic\comanche 4)
I would suggest forgetting about v2 (which you don't need to have to fly, just to serve it) and download the v15 from checkpointdelta and use that (since it has fewer "issues") (go to the download section and scroll down till you find it)

if you need winzip or winrar to use the zip files, search for them on the web, and when you download the file, click open, then you will find yourself in a winzip or winrar program, and you can "extract" to the comanche4 directory.

The latest up date nova put out is what may have the sniffer in it. That is the reason I didn't update. But I would bet that it would have to have you logged in under your account ie not using the log in by pass to ban your account. I think most players are using the alterd start up file any way.

Kool. at last an instruction I can understand :thumb: Many thnx Wiper I have Ver .15 which after reinstalling my original C4 CD-ROM I updated to. via the CPD site but if I understand right: I still have to sign in every time I play online! Is there an uncomplicated way of getting online without having to go thru the sign-on process? :dance:

Down load the start up file at the bottom of Banes thread. Then either unzip it into the c4 folder, or copy and paste it in. To play start the game. Click on multi player and that will take you to the server lobby.

This is a post from nova when the up date came out. Thats where I would think a sniffer would come from.
