I'm not new to C4, but new to C4 Multiplayer and have a couple of questions.

First, when my friends and I finish a mission (co-op), the complete screen comes up where it spins around my copter, but just sits there. If I hit enter, it takes me back to the host game menu, dumps everyone out, and I have to start hosting again (and they have to join again). When I played in someone else's game the other day (Deathmatch), we stayed in the session after each match, and the host changed maps without ending the session.

I have repeat set to cycle. Do I have to run a dedicated server to keep the session from ending after every mission? Or is that what the "server swap" software I see here is for? There is very little in the manual about actually hosting in MP.

Second, I can't seem to host from behind my Linksys NR041 router without using DMZ (which I HATE to do). I'm familiar with port forwarding from other online games I play, and I've opened UDP ports 17200 and 4660, but people still can't get in unless I DMZ.

Any help is apreciated.

For C4 Coop Multiplayer. When the mission is over do not press any buttons. The next map should load up if like you said it is on cycle. Same for players in your host game as well. Do not hit enter to keep playing. It's should auto load next mission.

If your hosting with the V.20 you're screwed.

The V.20 doesnt look at the c4.cfg file thats why.

Only way to host with port forwarding is to use the V.15
and with V.20 is to put the machine in the DMZ.

Thanks folks,

Sounds like I just need some patience after the mission ends!

As for the port forwarding, I am using v.15. Do I need to add any more parameters to the C4.CFG (such as my ip address)?

This is what I have in the first few lines:

mpattrib = 0
mp_gameport = 17200
mp_vonport = 0
mp_usealtnwport = 0

internet_address = "0.0.0.0"

Thanks guys, the only way I could get it to work without DMZing, was to run Port Magic. Ironically, it said it was using port 17200 for c4, which is what I have opened in forwarding.

PS unoyt - I'm cracking open an ice cold Molson Canadian which lessens my frustration quite a bit!
