WIN A FREE COPY OF BLACK HAWK DOWN
(US Shipping only)

Starting on Saturday 5-October-2002 I will post in this thread a Delta Force related question every day through Tuesday 15-October-2002 (11 questions).

The first person to answer the question correctly will earn a point for that day’s question. On Wednesday 16-October-2002 we will announce the winner who has earned the most points and a copy of Black Hawk Down will be pre-ordered to ship to the winner (US Shipping only).

The questions will be somehow related to the Delta Force game series, and may include mapping questions. The question of the day will be posted between the hours of 12:00AM and 6:00PM EST; the posting times of the questions will vary to make it fair for everyone

Any question that is not answered correctly by 11:59PM EST of the following day will be eliminated.

Although I may seek council from CPD Staff, I will ultimately make all decisions in regards to the contest including whether an answer is correct. There will be no debates on whether an answer is correct or not, I will decide.

In the event of a tie, I will post another question to be answered by only those who qualify, and the first person to answer it correctly will win.

ELIGIBILITY: Checkpoint Delta staff, Novalogic employees, and their families are not eligible.

If for some reason I am not able to carry out this contest it will be re-scheduled. If I die, well... sorry ;) I reserve the right to change or add to the rules as I see necessary.

=== Addendum to rules: ===
added 10/05/02 04:57 am EST -- ONLY 1 REPLY ALLOWED PER PARTICIPANT PER QUESTION
added 10/06/02 01:17 am EST -- Answers that have been edited will be disqualified
added 10/09/02 23:07 EST -- The contest has been extended until Thu 17-Oct-2002 and will be a total of 13 questions. Questions 4 and 5 will no longer count

One of my favorite weapons in Landwarrior is the M4/MK:
http://checkpointdelta.net/temp/m4_mk.jpg

3 questions:

What calibre round does the M4 shoot (english and metric please)?

What Does MK stand for?

Why does it have that nickname (MK)?

:bouncing:

#1) caliber: 223 Remington (5.56 NATO) -(MK uses 12 gage 70 mm cartidges)

#2) "Master Key"

#3) Given the name "Master Key" because the Remington M870 attached under the barrel is used to open any locked door (actually it removes the doors lol)

Mud, you and I know one another, and have played in many games together. I know that just because you have seen that I usually use the OICW, that had no influence on your answer.

Nonetheless, (and i hope you will understand my reasons) I am sending you a copy of BHD as soon as I receive them, and also excluding you from this contest.

Therefore, the contest will now be extended until Thursday 17-Oct-2002, and will now be 13 questions. Questions # 4 and 5 will no longer count.

Wow! That was a tough one for me. I thought I had the correct answer prior to asking.

The MED manual shows 31, my own game has nearly 100. The terrain viewer shows 33 stock terrains. I installed Landwarrior on my laptop & did a count (several times). Edward also did a fresh install & counted.

The conclusion is 35 stock terrains in the MED. So.......

Pacman - 2
BlacKbelt - 2
Ladyhawke - 2
Goldeneagle - 1
Majorheadache - 1
Devildog1 - 1

If PACMAN, BLACKBELT, or LADYHAWKE answer the next question correctly, that participant will win!

If GOLDENEAGLE, MAJORHEADACHE, or DEVILDOG1 answer the next question correctly, we will be in a 4 way tie, and the winner will be the one who answers the tie breaker question.
