Shrapnel games, the specialist military and sim publisher, has announced it will be developing a new strategy game based around the Falklands war.
Developed by wargame specialist ProSim, the game, which has yet to be named, will focus on the conflict triggered by Argentina's invasion of the Falkland Islands more than twenty years ago.
Details are fairly unclear at the moment, but the title will apparently cover all aspects of the conflict including amphibious assaults, aerial and naval conflict and special forces operations. Shrapnel will be calling on the experience of lead designer and former artillery officer Gary Bezant, who has 23 years of military experience and is also an expert on British military history.
The game is scheduled for release sometime in 2005; however when the inevitable tabloid headlines mushroom, remember you read it here first.
