Hello Inso,
I just ran AE 7.1.7 and it started fine.
I didn't run it all the way through.
I started AE
Started C4
Entered multiplayer
Entered a game but didnt' play
exited C4
Received an error box displaying the following
"Runtime Error 340"
"Control Array Element 17"
"Doesn't exist"
I selected Ok
The AE in the task bar along with the program shut down.
Machine is Athlon 64fx-51, 1gig memory
Cable connection
Windows XP home edition with latest drivers and updates.

Thank you ham617, I have looked into that and the error is caused by closing c4 prior to closing AE. It will not cause any harm aside from being annoying. It will be fixed and added to the final release, or the next beta as this is why we do em!

I have had the same problem also Inso.
I start AE---- thats ok.
I start a serve only server ----- thats ok
I hit ALT TAB to get out of the server----
I get the run time error also

By now your wondering why your AE is not running and pointing you here. That is because there is a patched update available. I know this may be a little annoying at first and I am sorry but it was the only way I could make sure everyone knew there was an update and that everyone was running the most current version.
The two known issues to date were both repaired, "Run time error" when closeing c4 while ae was running, and alting out to the desktop on a server.
Use add/remove programs to unistall the v717 installation and download the v718 setup file and install it.
Keep me posted, if I dont know about it I cant fix it!!!

I have been running it for the last 48 hrs and no problems so far.
It is working very nicely, except that some pilots are telling that they get a double kill i.e. they get killed by the enemy and at the same time they get a ''got tired of life or crashed'' and 1 point is subtracted even while flying at 50 agl.
Is this the 20 version or the AE causing this ???

Hey guys and gals, thanks again for the updates as it does help alot! As for the death after kill that is unforutantly a side effect of v20 and not caused by AE. Any that have flown in the Nova server know this all too well. Sorry bud, nuttin I can do with just yet.
Funny thing that nova would goto to the trouble to recode and release a new version and only fix one bug, leave the rest and cause a new one. Hmm must be that new math.:stupid2:

I have been told that
players joining a version 2 server running AE
joining with the original "cd required" c4.exe version 15 at 8h that AE does not change there health
joining with the original "cd required" c4.exe version 20 at 8h that it does
And that joining with both versions using the No-Cd patch at 8h ae does change it. Can anyone confirm this please? I will test it out tonight when I get home but needed to make everyone aware of the possiablity.

Also be advised that running more then one c4 game at a time on the same pc will KILL ae, hence dont load c4 host a game alt out then start c4 again and join it, AE will not and can not run like this on a server.

I have hosted a server with v20 nocd and joined with all four exe files. both 15 + 20 original and nocd's I had no problems with any of them.

I have hosted with both the orginal and the nocd v20 files and had players join using both versions and had no problems. See what happens from here.

I think the V1.5 problem with cd isn't a problem. I read in another forum a message to you from jackal reporting the problem. Since then he recanted saying that the server advertised it was running ae but it turned out that it wasn't. I noticed that you havent responded to him yet so you may not have seen it.

after 7 or so games on a v2 server with ae, i had a sysdump, but it made my computer reboot. just wondering if this happens to other ppl?

SAI was having a match with LMB yesterday. We know they are using a macro that allows them to fire their cannon very fast + stingers at the same time. Very effective setup... In any case that wasn't the problem. The problems is that AE v1.8 or v2 may give double or even triple counts on each kill, and both were on during the match. I have a screen shot showing it. It shows RB leaving and the match beginning. On the first three deaths there two kills for them one for us, but the score reads 5 kills for them and 1 kill for us, yet it only showed the three recorded deaths with no double deaths showing. They may be getting two to three kills per actual caused death, and if thats the case it's probably not a good thing since the game has had so many scoring issues. Just a thought!, I am not sure what the cause was but my thought is that if a person turns up the speed of the cannon so it fires all 500 rounds in 5 seconds, it may cause the game to record false scoring as well. Keep you eyes open people. Cya flying.

sounds fair to me - yes sir - that otta make the game play real good. so, mr Inso, is there any way to get an atomic bomb feechure added to this game - so as you don,t have to leeve the base and can just press and kill from there ?

actually, I was kinda thinking along the lines of a neutron bomb, so that all the players hiding behind buildings would be killed too (cause I'm sure that the LMB and DIE guys would find the lead lined buildings to hide behind lol)

Strike 2( I mean C4Ver20 fixed) I rarely have double kills. But I have noticed that while Serving with AE-718 on The Double kills start piling up.

I got a question from a player about when AE checks a players health for 8h. There was an assumtion that it is only done at the time of joining, this is not so. AE checks every players health for any value greater then 3h, so joining 8h and bounceing a few times really quick wont help. It runs this check every 100ms or 10 times a second, so if your thinking that someone is switching mid stream in between the checks I highly doubt there fast enough to survive it, and if they are its pretty much usless unless they switch at 101ms and get hit in between 102ms and 199ms then switch back So thats 1/10th of a second to switch get hit and switch back heheheh lmao ya!
But I dont put anything past anyone anymore!! :)

A consideration was made for the final release version to include an option for the server to set health at either 1h or 3h instead of forcing 1h.

Is there any way to join a server and know if AE is on or off?
It would be nice to have somekind of pre-game, post-game, during game message to let players know it is in fact on. I know thats a tall order.
Another thought was to maybe have CPD have a log file Page for all to view of when ever AE is turned on and off. Maybe each user of AE could have a name and password or just logged by IP address with time stamp.
