PORT settings

I was wondering if anyone can help me set up C4 so I can Serve on Novaworld and log in to play from a computer that is on the same home network..I know it has to do with port settings and dont want to screw somethin up...I have DSL and the router has NAT..any help or things to try would be greatly appreciated..thanks

what kind of router ? what op system ? do you have multiple ip's or just one ?

Its an Eicon Diva 2440 router...windows XP pro ..and just 1 IP address with 2 computers on home network hub....

same problem here too.......keep getting Bad key error........tried messing with the router a bit........didnt help:(

kgb, you having a problem serving, or just playing on the lan ?

I'm not familiar with that router. when you click on "play on lan IP", then "search for games", does it find the game on your other computer or are you just not able to join the game ?

I was looking to host a nova server on one pc and join it from my lan on a another pc as a lan game. I think that is also what kgb is trying to do.

hi all, i changed the MP server port in the C4 config file to 17200 and it works now..I just serve on Nova and then search LAN with other computer and join..I get a bad key error now and then but if i try a few times it finally lets me in...thanks everyone for all your help..

I tried the fix KGB used in the confg file but cant get past the bad key thing:mad:

I have a different configuration than you do (multiple ip's), but if I attempt to connect to the game thru novaworld first, then back out and use the "lan ip" protocol, it works. (somehow connecting to nova first gives it a good key). don't know if you can do this or not, but works for me.
