You can record your own sound files and set them to play useing the WAC file. I am working on a map with custom wave files but I can tell you it's a task and you need to really understand the WAC file set up to get them to play.

One of the Terranova crew has gotten it so each player can hear sounds, including having the ground shake when the earthquake starts. He also has mortars and explosions working on waypoints. NOT A MOD, in an actual MP game.

Basicly you can design a mission useing WAC file and have such effects as, lightning and thunder, or have day turn to night or vise versia, earth quake and a few other effects like have clouds move across the sky. In order for everyone in a multiplayer situation, as far as I've tested to see these effects, everyone would have to only download the wac file and set their target window with the /d switch. If the WAC file could be attached when the mission loads over multiplay then that would settle the problem of everyone having to download the wac file.

If someone has figured out a way to do this then I sure would love to know.
