NO CD patches may result in you being banned !

I am not aware of this as I never play Nova Stat servers. However if it is true then it smacks of even more underhand behaviour from Novalogic. It is the view of DFMax that the NO CD patches in no way encourage Warez or Piracy. You can only install these patches after you have installed the game and to install the game you must have a valid CD key. I believe that Novalogic obviously have no understanding of the Warez community. If you get a Warez copy of a game it is in a drive image format that allows you to burn a CD of the game. So you have a CD to use wether Novalogic like it or not so targeting the NO CD patches is a poor show. I have used these for years purely as it annoys me to have to swap CD's all the time.

NovaLogic seems to be putting more attention into cracking down on “cheaters” and whatnot instead of directing their efforts into more practical things like issues for better “Support” and “Coop” in some of their games. I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m dis’ing NL, not at all because I still love their games. I’m just somewhat overwhelmed by their big concerns over these issues and not the issues the gaming community has been gripping about for the past few years.
Like Chad I'm sick of swapping CD's as I personaly have had to pay to replace a couple of my games due to wear and tear.
It's enough just paying upwards of $50 for a game then have to dish out X dollars to have a replacement cd just to play again.

I'm still using Othello's 8-Player Co-Op / No CD fix patches, and I'm still able to host & joing LW & TFD games on NovaWorld Public Servers... I haven't been banned, yet!

2 burn a backup copy of dflw or tfd is really quite easy dont need no c/d key because the original df gm is in the jewel case and burned copy in c/d lol . ive been useing burned backup copy's of n/l gm's for year's . i look at it like when i used to buy a album and record it onto tape so as not to scratch the album . so if i do ruin a back up copy of the gm n/p no need to buy another copy just reburn another copy because i still have the original lmao . and thats fine ban no c/d patch in stat n/w server's i dont play in them anyway's . but the post by steptoe @ dfa disturbed me it's not going to be just the no c/d patch all the current mod's and tool's produced so far . and if thats true they better release some BA user friendly tool's compleate with easy to read/understand full manual's otherwise it's gonna bite
