Beeing new in all of this, this question might look silly in the eyes of the expert... ;)
But...
How can I make a Minefield in a TFD map?
And...
How can I make Tunnels in a Way that there is nothing Black ahead but a clear few into the tunnel.
When I walk into my own Tunnel (Hmm This sounds a little Sick :barfy: ) I can only see as far as the next section, witch is black 'till I move from the first to the next tunnelsection

hmmm make that View in stead of a Few.
That explaines my low grades on English class, years ago...:spin:

Minefields in TFD are simple... Just place an "Empty Explosion" or two, or three within an area trigger and assign them to a Group number. Then set up an event that kills the Group of empty explosions when Blue team enters the area trigger.

The black hole syndrom can be eliminated from tunnels by assigning each section to a "Blink Group"...

Edward was kind enough to post mapping help under the following topic link: Mapping Tutorials (http://www.checkpointdelta.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=384)

Tx For the reply Ladyhawk...
But how can I trigger that event?

I selected a few emty explosions (witch are not visual while creating though) and put them in a Group 3.
how can I set that to explode when Anyone enters that Area?
And... Is it a one time event? or does it stay a explosive area?
And... how can I see the boundries of that mine area?

Do I get this right:
One enters the perimeter of a "empty explosion", that's an event I presume?
And that specific event can trigger a Group to activate an action?

Do you have any examples of this?

You can create the illusion of landmines, by placing barrels, and change their z-value or by useing Empty Explosion" . You do that by marking the barrel, rigth-click on it, choose item attributes, and there youŽll find a box called z-value. By changing that to a negative value, it is buried in the ground. The value for the barrel is -2,32 if ya use the Empty Explosion"keep it ground level
When you still are in the item attributes for the barrel or empty explosion, give it a groupnumber.(lets call it group #3)
And then you can place 2 area-triggers around it, mark them both, rightclick and choose "item attributes".And give both the same number.(lets call it #1)
Mark your "start-player" and give it group # 1.
Now go to your "events", create an event that says:
"IF"
Trigger type: "group"
Trigger condition: "area trigger"
Trigger variables: "group 1" "area 1"
"THEN"
Action type: "kill group"
Action variables: "group 3"

OK hope this help's barrel has around 2-3m burst/kill and the empty explosion has around 8m burst /kill

OK I put op 2 area triggers and gave them number 1 (By typing "1"in the waypoint section)
after that a logical (orange) squere apears on my map with in opposite corners my Areamarkers.
Within and in the near of the area, I placed barrels above ground (to witness the effect)
I gave the barrels the groupnumber 53
I marked all players (TKOTH map) and placed them in Group 3.

Then I made a new event:
Group 3 is within area 1
THEN
Eliminate Group 53

But no boom or whatsoever

Were did I miss it??

If I remember correctly Mr. Green, you need to make the people who trigger the event either blue or red... or group 1 or 2. This has something to do with multiplayer only registering these two.

In BHD, the players in Multiplayer are all group 1... making tactics like base guarding by AI or explosions an impossibility. :(

In addition, you might need to wait for a few seconds for the effect to fully load into the server when hosting...

I've added a working mis/bms for you to play with - just password a server on Nova for tkoth and host it ... or lan/ipx.

Run towards the barrels.

( In order to use the file, you will have to unzip the file twice. After the first time - rename the unzipped file as a .zip file and unzip it again. Sorry - its the way of the server. )
