TVG's roving reporter ventures into the depths of Indonesia to get the heads up on Novalogic's new multiplayer war simulator...

Joint Operations, for release early in 2004, is a multiplayer title. Set in Indonesia in the near future it takes the player to a country on the verge of disintegration. Regional independence movements have acquired advanced weaponry as the nation's military splits into competing factions. Escalating violence threatens innocent civilians and Western economic interests. Gamers can fly helicopters, pilot boats, and drive fast attack vehicles as part of a skilled combat team, firing on the move. Developed using the Black Hawk engine, Joint Operations promises superior rendering technology and an enhanced 3rd generation multiplayer experience. We spoke with Joel Taubel in a Q/A session, the Producer of Joint Operations.

The Joint Operations team is based out of NovaLogic’s development studio and corporate offices in Calabasas, California, U.S.A. The team working on Joint Operations has a rich development history at NovaLogic. The team has been involved in developing titles including the Delta Force series, Comanche franchise, F-22 Lightning 3, Armored Fist 3, and Tachyon: The Fringe.

Joint Operations has been in development for almost a year, with a team of approximately 30 programmers and artists working on it at any one time.
